Thanks for taking the time to read this. When I built this practice, I had a vision of the type of care that I wanted to offer to the community I live and work in. Honest answers, time to talk to parents, and treating children in the same way that I would treat my own child. I believe all of us, as parents, want to do the best for their children, so they can grow up happy and healthy. Whether its your child’s first time with us, or a return visit, you can expect:
A team approach to your child’s care – What we do here is important, but pales in comparison to what a parent can accomplish everyday at home. We will outline what treatments can be done in the office, and also what “homework” parents can do, as well as how to determine if they are doing a good job. From adjusting diet to helping your child floss, we work with you to develop realistic, simple steps for you to take at home to improve your child’s oral health.
Thorough explanations – Whether it’s a decision to take out a tooth, or fix a cavity, our staff will always take the time to talk to you about why problems occur, what to do once we fix it, and how to prevent it from happening again. Our goal is to fix a tooth once, and never need to fix it again.
Accurate information – With all the information we see on the internet, it’s difficult to tell what’s right and what’s wrong. My goal is to inform parents, without bias, about the effects of different products and treatments, and to help them to make an informed decision. Good information, no sensationalism- Just the facts. That’s how I’d want the info, and that’ s how we share the info with parents.
Conservative Dentistry – I tend to be a conservative dentist- meaning I don’t propose treatment unless I know that parents cannot simply fix the problem with consistent brushing and flossing. Each child’s mouth is different- I’ll talk to you about the rationale for fixing teeth, or NOT fixing teeth (if they are going to fall out within the next 12 months), and what the pros and cons of each treatment are. We balance the needs of the child, the possible treatments and outcomes, and the understanding that finances are always a factor. Reasonable, sensible and effective treatment that will last – that’s the ultimate goal.
Compassionate care and patience – Our kids are amazing individuals, and sometimes we just need to give them encouragement and support when they experience something new, like a dental visit. Whether your child is fearful of the unknown, or just a little anxious, our experienced dental assistants are here to guide your child and YOU, the parent, through each dental visit. We will take as much time as needed to accomplish our goals, and to make sure we consider the dental AND mental needs of your child.
Thanks – We hope to see your family soon!
